Chapter 132

A Song of degrees. LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:

(Ein Lied im höhern Chor.) Gedenke, HERR, an David und all sein Leiden,

How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;

der dem HERRN schwur und gelobte dem Mächtigen Jakobs:

Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;

"Ich will nicht in die Hütte meines Hauses gehen noch mich aufs Lager meines Bettes legen,

I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,

ich will meine Augen nicht schlafen lassen noch meine Augenlider schlummern,

Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

bis ich eine Stätte finde für den HERRN, zur Wohnung des Mächtigen Jakobs."

Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

Siehe, wir hörten von ihr in Ephratha; wir haben sie gefunden auf dem Felde des Waldes.

We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool.

Wir wollen in seine Wohnung gehen und anbeten vor seinem Fußschemel.

Arise, O LORD, into thy rest; thou, and the ark of thy strength.

HERR, mache dich auf zu deiner Ruhe, du und die Lade deiner Macht!

Let thy priests be clothed with righteousness; and let thy saints shout for joy.

Deine Priester laß sich kleiden mit Gerechtigkeit und deine Heiligen sich freuen.

For thy servant David's sake turn not away the face of thine anointed.

Wende nicht weg das Antlitz deines Gesalbten um deines Knechtes David willen.

The LORD hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

Der HERR hat David einen wahren Eid geschworen, davon wird er sich nicht wenden: "Ich will dir auf deinen Stuhl setzen die Frucht deines Leibes.

If thy children will keep my covenant and my testimony that I shall teach them, their children shall also sit upon thy throne for evermore.

Werden deine Kinder meinen Bund halten und mein Zeugnis, das ich sie lehren werde, so sollen auch ihre Kinder auf deinem Stuhl sitzen ewiglich."

For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

Denn der HERR hat Zion erwählt und hat Lust, daselbst zu wohnen.

This is my rest for ever: here will I dwell; for I have desired it.

"Dies ist meine Ruhe ewiglich, hier will ich wohnen; denn es gefällt mir wohl.

I will abundantly bless her provision: I will satisfy her poor with bread.

Ich will ihre Speise segnen und ihren Armen Brot genug geben.

I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

Ihre Priester will ich mit Heil kleiden, und ihre Heiligen sollen fröhlich sein.

There will I make the horn of David to bud: I have ordained a lamp for mine anointed.

Daselbst soll aufgehen das Horn Davids; ich habe meinen Gesalbten eine Leuchte zugerichtet.

His enemies will I clothe with shame: but upon himself shall his crown flourish.

Seine Feinde will ich mit Schanden kleiden; aber über ihm soll blühen seine Krone."
