Chapter 50

A Psalm of Asaph. The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.

Salmo. Di Asaf. convoca la terra da oriente a occidente.

Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.

Da Sion, splendore di bellezza, Dio rifulge.

Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.

Viene il nostro Dio e non sta in silenzio; davanti a lui un fuoco divorante, intorno a lui si scatena la tempesta.

He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.

Convoca il cielo dall'alto e la terra al giudizio del suo popolo:

Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

«Davanti a me riunite i miei fedeli, che hanno sancito con me l'alleanza offrendo un sacrificio».

And the heavens shall declare his righteousness: for God is judge himself. Selah.

Il cielo annunzi la sua giustizia, Dio è il giudice.

Hear, O my people, and I will speak; O Israel, and I will testify against thee: I am God, even thy God.

«Ascolta, popolo mio, voglio parlare, testimonierò contro di te, Israele: Io sono Dio, il tuo Dio.

I will not reprove thee for thy sacrifices or thy burnt offerings, to have been continually before me.

Non ti rimprovero per i tuoi sacrifici; i tuoi olocausti mi stanno sempre davanti.

I will take no bullock out of thy house, nor he goats out of thy folds.

Non prenderò giovenchi dalla tua casa, né capri dai tuoi recinti.

For every beast of the forest is mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills.

Sono mie tutte le bestie della foresta, animali a migliaia sui monti.

I know all the fowls of the mountains: and the wild beasts of the field are mine.

Conosco tutti gli uccelli del cielo, è mio ciò che si muove nella campagna.

If I were hungry, I would not tell thee: for the world is mine, and the fulness thereof.

Se avessi fame, a te non lo direi: mio è il mondo e quanto contiene.

Will I eat the flesh of bulls, or drink the blood of goats?

Mangerò forse la carne dei tori, berrò forse il sangue dei capri?

Offer unto God thanksgiving; and pay thy vows unto the most High:

Offri a Dio un sacrificio di lode e sciogli all'Altissimo i tuoi voti;

And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

invocami nel giorno della sventura: ti salverò e tu mi darai gloria».

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth?

All'empio dice Dio: «Perché vai ripetendo i miei decreti e hai sempre in bocca la mia alleanza,

Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.

tu che detesti la disciplina e le mie parole te le getti alle spalle?

When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers.

Se vedi un ladro, corri con lui; e degli adùlteri ti fai compagno.

Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit.

Abbandoni la tua bocca al male e la tua lingua ordisce inganni.

Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son.

Ti siedi, parli contro il tuo fratello, getti fango contro il figlio di tua madre.

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

Hai fatto questo e dovrei tacere? forse credevi ch'io fossi come te! Ti rimprovero: ti pongo innanzi i tuoi peccati».

Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.

Capite questo voi che dimenticate Dio, perché non mi adiri e nessuno vi salvi.

Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

Chi offre il sacrificio di lode, questi mi onora, a chi cammina per la retta via mostrerò la salvezza di Dio.
